Concerts are turning into installations & installations are turning into concerts

Spencer Topel is a composer and sound-artist that recently spent some time in Copenhagen working with the Figura Ensemble as a guest of the DIVA residency program. He presented some of his works at one of the Frankenstein’s Lab show & tell sessions and I was struck by the convergence of installation-art and concert pieces in his work. I met him some weeks later to discus the phenomenon of ‘concerts turning into installations & installations turning into concerts’.
